Hi, I’m Whitson Rao — UX strategist, developer, and founder of WhiteScreen.VIP, a fullscreen white screen utility launched in September 2024 under my digital design studio, PurelyUX, based in both the United States and the Philippines.

I created WhiteScreen.VIP with a single goal: to provide a clean, distraction-free screen experience that works instantly — no ads, no logins, no downloads. Whether you're testing a monitor, lighting a photoshoot, meditating, or simply trying to focus, this tool is built to serve without getting in your way.

Why I Built It

As a UX professional, I noticed a frustrating trend — most screen tools were cluttered with popups, ads, or unnecessary features. I wanted to build something different: a fast, minimalist, cross-device solution that respects your time and keeps the experience seamless.

WhiteScreen.VIP is my answer to that — a tool that puts clarity, usability, and simplicity front and center.

My Background in UX

My journey into user experience started at the University of the Philippines – Diliman, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (2009–2013). I focused on Human-Computer Interaction and UI Design, and worked as a UX Lab Researcher under Dr. Regina Reyes, exploring frictionless digital experiences. My capstone project, "Minimalist UI Systems for Cross-Device Applications," became the foundation for my design approach today.

In 2020, I took my skills further with the Interaction Design Foundation, earning a certification in UX Strategy. I studied UX Psychology, Visual Hierarchies, and Minimal Design — all of which shaped the launch and continued development of WhiteScreen.VIP.

A Tool Used Worldwide

Since its launch, WhiteScreen.VIP has been used by a global community of creatives and professionals — from photographers in Los Angeles to developers in Bangalore, and designers at Stanford to founders in fast-growing startup hubs. It's a small tool with a big mission: to support real-world tasks through pure, purposeful design.
